Gee, you think?

NYT headline today: Some Democrats Are Sensing Missed Opportunities. "Democrats described a growing sense that they had failed to take full advantage of the troubles that have plagued Mr. Bush and his party since the middle of last year, driving down the president's approval ratings, opening divisions among Republicans in Congress over policy and potentially putting control of the House and Senate into play in November... 'We seem to be losing our voice when it comes to the basic things people worry about,' Mr. Dodd said."

Do you hear the resounding chorus throughout the land as people check out the NYT's home page today? All the voices saying "No shit, Sherlock," "Well, duh," "Hello, where have you people been?" and "Oh, come on! You're just noticing this now?"

I don't fully buy it. Some of these problems are so glaringly obvious that you don't really need someone to stand over them and point them out. Like... if you're still in love with the Bush administration now, then I really doubt anything could have changed your mind.

Obama will save us!

I'm so in love with NV's senator Reid. He sends his people to this armpit town of mine to talk to us. They sit there in a van by the post office and ask us about our concerns! If you voice one they sit down and talk to you about it...and then...miracle...something gets fixed!

I like to think that the democrats (except Kennedy, hardeeharhar) are laying low because they know Dubya will trip over his own head without their help.

Yeah, but when are they going to establish a finishing school or something for potential prez candidates? Where's the next stellar Democratic going to come from? Is the world ready for Hilary yet? Where is the smart, driven, charismatic, articulate person who can keep the next election from being about chads, or a few votes? That's what the Democrats really need to focus on.

You know what's sad is that millions of people need the glaringly obvious pointed out to them by the Democratic party or else we're going to end up with Bush's brother.

i'm angry with the dems, i'm sick of the bushists, and the next two years are going to be worse than the last two elections.
