Celebrity baby name alert

According to this snarky report, Nicolas Cage and his 20-years-younger wife Alice just named their baby boy Kal-el. For those of you who are not geeks, Kal-el is the original Kryptonian name of Superman, from before he landed on Earth and got adopted by the Kents.

Poor kid. His middle name is Coppola, so it looks like he's really stuck with this Kal-el moniker.

If I ever had another baby boy, I would name him Mork.

Something tells me that this kid's name is going to be far, far down on the list of grievances he'll have against his dad.

Do you remember when Nicolas Cage was on Saturday Night Live years ago, and he played a guy who was discussing baby names with his wife..."No, that one's too sissy", etc. Then the pizza guy came with a deliver for "Mr. Asswipe!" And Cage goes, "No! It's Azz-wee-pay!"

Musta rubbed off on poor ol Nic.

Nah, he'll just go by "KC." And kids today don't remember the Sunshine Band, anyway.

Peanut's middle name gets confused for the name of Superman's "dad." And they aren't even spelled the same. Not to mention that I would never have done that on purpose.

Traktor led our list for some time. We liked the 1920s Soviet ring it has.
