I went to a cousin's bridal shower today. Mr. Tangerine and Ben spent the day walking, going to parks, and having sandwiches at convenience stores. During their afternoon outings, they had the following discussion:
Ben: Is Mommy at a wedding?
Mr. T: No, she's at a bridal shower.
Ben: What's a bridal shower?
Mr. T: A bridal shower is a party you have before a wedding.
Ben: Is Mommy getting married?
Mr. T: No, Mommy is already married. To me.
Ben: Why is Mommy getting married?

I love it!
my kids are insistent upon being mommies when they grow up. they have also expressed interest in being MY mommy....
kids rock!
My girl-child was convinced there was water involved in the latest shower we went to...a baby shower...she wondered if we had to bring our own towels....
I grew up in a small town where the showers were usually held at the church. I spent a lot of time trying to figure out where the shower was, and why women wanted to shower at the church when we had a shower at home.
I also looked for the bunk beds that must be somewhere in the restroom. Obviously a rest room is a place where you go to rest, right?
My favorite shower gift to bestow remains a shower curtain...it gives everyone a little chuckle, har har har. Assuming, of course, the box of Chardonnay is already flowing.
Very nice. Keep up the good work.
