This boy

He's the sweetest, brightest, funniest kid on the planet. And also the most bothersome, when he puts his mind to it or when I'm feeling a tad worn out.

Today he tried to break my heart by having an extremely uncharacteristic crying jag when I took him to school. Oh, how he cried! Absolutely sobbed. Grabbed onto my neck for dear life. And hit me up with his most tragically beseeching gaze. The teachers shooed me out of the classroom, and of course Ben had a perfectly fine day at school. So WTF? I think it must have been that he didn't get enough sleep the night before.

Right now he's sound asleep, and what could be finer?

What. A. Cutie. Seriously. That's not even the standard "cute kid" comment. He is just incredibly freaking cute.

I hate that, when they cry over going to school. Pseudonymous kid has been having "I hate school" issues on and off all year. In part, I kind of see his point--the school he's at isn't optimal. But it's the only option we have at the moment. Aarrrggghhh.

We never suspected we'd have a kid who was not only outgoing and independent, but good-looking (he gets his curls from my husband's mother). He's gonna shave his head when he's a teenager, isn't he?

Yes, what B said. This child is way beyond cute. And yes, he will most likely shave that hair when he's about 14.

He may shave his head at 14, but I bet good money he'll be putting those curls, those gorgeous eyes, and that impish smile to good use in the dating world by 24....

He's damned cute. Nicely done!
