Creepy phone call

By the way, at my other blog, I wrote up the game show experience. The guy who (undeservedly) won took umbrage at how I portrayed him in my blog last week. And he tracked down my phone number. And he called me. At my house. At 10 p.m.

That's fucking creepy, right? I mean, how much of a sense of entitlement do you have to have to call a near stranger after 9 p.m., first off? Isn't that the general rule of thumb, that you don't call someone after 9 unless you know them well enough to know it's OK? And to phone a blogger? WTF? Wouldn't the first line of action be a blog comment or e-mail?

I asked why he cared what anyone else says about him—why can't he be just content with the seven grand? And do you know what he said? That the money is nothing to him—he can make that in a day. Obnoxious, right?

What a twit.

That would seriously creep me out. Yuck. And what a TWIT.

Tell him to come to the tournament and beat you THERE.

Ellen, I did—he conceded that he stood no chance. Just because he was a worthy rival on MGC in his head doesn't mean anyone else could see that.

Ew! That is wildly stalker-y excessive!

Uh, is he going to track down everybody who dissed him in the comments? Because I'm one of about 100,000 "Mary Hayes"'s in this country. Good Luck, Andy.

Mary Hayes, I don't think he's seen this blog.

But omigod omigod! I just got a comment at the other blog that reads as follows:

FUCK YOU BITCH THATS MY FUCKING DAD. YOUR JUST
JELOUS THAT YOU ARE A DUMBSHIT AND MY FATHER
USED STRADEGIE.

R.A.D.I.A.T.O.R
BITCH

The man festers. And his kid? Heh. Do you get your your spelling aptitude from your mom or your dad?

What is a four-letter word that begins and ends with "T"; meaning "wanker" or "a part of the female anatomy"?
Tit for tat, or twit for...well.
And you know what? If it was me who won and was getting ripped? I would just take some of my $7k and go shopping and "neener-neener" everyone, you know? I certainly wouldn't start stalking them. Come on.

I now officially feel very sorry for that guy, because it must suck to be such an asshole. Seriously. Creep.

I have an evil idea... You should do a password protected post - title it, "What I really, really think about the looser" or something like. Then sit back and watch his head explode. He wouldn't be able to get in, but would be SURE that everyone else was READING ABOUT HIM! The post wouldn't even have to be real or contain any content!

Oh, that would be too much fun... Of course, if he has your phone #, he might have an address too. Not really sure if playing that game is worth it in real life. :)

But it does sound fun...

Wow, that's some scary stuff!

"stradegie"???

meanwhile, if you get any more phone calls, you might want to notify someone. don't know who, exactly, though. Maybe Ty will protect you . . .

Hmmm. I think the email was the work of someone cleverly disguising his brilliant spelling ability. Talk about stradegie...

As for the phone call, I'm with Narya. Was there a clause in your game show appearance contract about not bugging other contestants or something? Maybe his prize money could be revoked! After all, "it means nothing to him."

I hope the needy, creepy little phone call and the obnoxious email are the extent of this harassment.

I mean comment not email, sorry. I'm still on my first cup of coffee.

I'm not keeping up enough here, but I had to go back and read what you wrote about him on the other blog. What an idiot! I thought you were pretty tame; he's just clearly out of his league. I hope he gets over it and leaves you alone.

This drama, it rocks. Although, I'm sorry if the phone call is making you feel threatened in any way - that doesn't rock, but the rest of it - the other comment included - rad!

Don't you always secretly hope that someone who beats you in a pseudo-unfair fashion is really a creepy asshole?

Orange said...

Mignon: Yes! It is good to have the confirmation that my initial disdain was well-justified.

Stradegie? Everyone knows it's spelled strategery. Jeez.
